Christian Ludwig Lipten

Christian Ludwig Lipten (born June 28, 1698 in Berlin ; † March 3, 1759 in Altlandsberg ) was a Reformed court preacher in Potsdam and Altlandsberg.

Life

His father Hamrath was a court confectioner in Berlin. Christian Ludwig Lipten attended the Joachimsthalsche Gymnasium and studied theology in Frankfurt / Oder from 1717 . In 1720 he went to Halle and then to Utrecht , where he was also a respondent. In 1721 Christian Ludwig Lipten was appointed royal candidate. From 1722 he made a long trip to the Netherlands (Leiden University in March 1724), to England , France and Switzerland .

In 1725 he became a preacher at the new orphanage in Potsdam and also in the garrison church . In 1726 King Friedrich Wilhelm appointed him the first Reformed court preacher at the new Holy Spirit Church , alongside the Lutheran court preacher Heinrich Schubert . In 1729 Christian Ludwig Lipten became court preacher in Altlandsberg. In 1740 he turned down the offer to become consistorial councilor in Magdeburg . In 1759 he died in Altlandsberg.

His wife died in 1728, one son was Heinrich Carl Jacob Lipten (1737–1796), who was the last reformed church councilor in Berlin.

Christian Ludwig Lipten has received the dissertation and his studbook .
