Christian Nitschke (born April 28, 1985 in Rostock ) is a former German triathlete . He is included in the best list of German triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Christian Nitschke started his first triathlon in June 2004.

Triathlon professional since 2010

In 2008, the 23-year-old started the long distance in Glücksburg for the first time . He has been a professional athlete since 2010. With five wins in a row, he is the record winner and track record holder at the Ostseeman in Glücksburg.

Nitschke mainly started in competitions on the long distance (3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running). In autumn 2014 he suffered a hip injury and had to take a break in 2015. After this break he announced a start at the Ostseeman again in 2016 and finished eleventh in August.

In 2017, the 31-year-old declared his professional career over after seven years. He wants to pass on his experience as a coach.

Private

Christian Nitschke now lives in Rostock with his wife and two children.
