The Ostseeman is a German triathlon that is held annually in August over the long distance (3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km running).
organization
After Ironman Germany and Challenge Roth , the Ostseeman is the third largest long-distance triathlon in Germany and mostly also the North German championship over the long distance.
With the “OstseeMan 113 Damp”, a parallel race in the middle distance (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km running) was offered here in Damp for the first time.
More than 1000 athletes took part in the 17th edition in 2018.
Route
It is the only German triathlon over this distance that involves swimming in the open sea. The setting for the Ostseeman is Glücksburg with a bike course over six laps and a running course over five laps - over wooded areas along the shore road to the Quellenental , from there along the promenade, along the beach and back into town, through the castle park to the destination at the Promenade.
