Till Schramm (born March 20, 1985 in Cologne ) is a German triathlete .

Career

After taking part in mountain bike races in his youth , Till Schramm switched to duathlon as a junior .

German champion Biathle 2003

In 2003 he became German Champion in Biathle (running, swimming and running).

U23 world champion duathlon long distance

In 2006 he became world champion in the duathlon long distance in Denmark in the U23 class. In 2007 he became German U23 cross-striathlon champion.

In the following years he also tried his hand at triathlon and benefited from the experience of his mentors and training partners Faris Al-Sultan and Jürgen Zäck . In July 2008 at Challenge Roth he was German champion in the long distance triathlon in the age group 20-24.

Professional triathlete since 2010

Till Schramm has been active as a professional triathlete since 2010 and starts for the SVBG association .

At the Cologne Triathlon Weekend on September 1, 2013, Schramm was disqualified for a maneuver while cycling. He appealed against this disqualification to the NRW Association Court. On April 11, 2014, the NRW Association Court Schramm was right on all points. The disqualification was lifted, whereby Schramm got his second place back. At the Cologne District Court in March 2015, Schramm and the local organizer agreed to include him in the list of results as another runner-up without his prize money. Since then, his best time on the long distance triathlon is 8 hours and 23 minutes. In October 2013 he set a new personal best at 2:36:59 h at the Cologne Marathon.

After taking second place here twice, Schramm won the 14th edition of the Ostseeman in August 2015 and was able to repeat this success in 2016.

In November 2016, he won the Dubai International Triathlon in its third edition - after two second places in previous years. In August 2017, the then 32-year-old won the Ostseeman for the third time in a row. He won the Israman on the Ironman distance in January 2018 in Israel with a new course record.

Till Schramm lives in Cologne with his wife and son.
