Christian Schilling (born August 11, 1981 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player . He currently plays in the 2nd regional league Lower Austria / East for SC Lassee .

Club career

Schilling began his career in the youth of SC Siebenhirten, where he was discovered and signed by a VfB scout Admira Wacker Mödling at the age of ten .

As a result, he graduated from all youth teams at the performance center Südstadt, before he made his debut in the 2001/02 season under coach Hans Krankl in the Bundesliga . In a year of catastrophe for Admira, who with only 15 points unmistakably descended from bottom of the table, he came as an ambitious home grown man to eight league appearances without scoring, before he was no longer for the after the resignation of Krankl under his successors Walter Knaller and Johann Krejcirik Professional team was considered.

In 2003 he moved to the Regionalliga Ost at SKN St. Pölten in favor of his professional training . In St. Pölten, he immediately became the undisputed regular player and had three strong seasons in the top field of the league. After completing his apprenticeship as a tourism specialist, he subsequently accepted an offer from the German fourth division club SV Waldhof Mannheim , whose coach Steffen Menze had previously discovered him due to his strong performance in St. Pölten.

In Mannheim, which took on a significant financial outlay to return to professional football, he immediately regained the status of the regular player, completed two strong seasons without, however, creating the planned promotion with the traditional club. After qualifying for the “New Regionalliga” in the 2007/08 season , the club had to drastically slim down financially, whereupon its contract was no longer extended.

As a result, he moved back to the Austrian Regional League East to the FAC team for Vienna , which was supervised by Dominik Thalhammer . After the departure of Thalhammer and the installation of Andreas Ogris as the new head coach, he moved to the 1st Lower Austrian regional league for FC Mistelbach for the first time in January 2009 after only half a year with Floridsdorf .

In Mistelbach he followed the call of Markus Kernal , who had already brought him to St. Pölten while he was working as a sports director and was now working as a trainer for the Weinviertel team. In Mistelbach, Schilling presented himself under-challenged and played an outstanding second half. After the team had made it from the bottom of the table to the midfield of the league, Kernal left the club and hired as the sporting director of the traditional Viennese club 1. Simmeringer SC .

Schilling, which they wanted to keep in Mistelbach, was brought back by Kernal to the club that had just been promoted to the Vienna City League . In Simmering he played under coach Karl Brauneder and alongside the former Austrian national players Alen Orman and Marcus Pürk again a strong season as a driver in midfield and just missed promotion to the Regionalliga Ost with third place in the table.

For the 2010/11 season he followed Kernal, who had meanwhile been appointed coach of ASC Götzendorf, to the 1st Lower Austria regional league for the third time in a row. Götzendorf, after many departures, traded as a relegation candidate, then completed a strong first half of the season and surprisingly crowned himself autumn champion. Schilling was nominated for the team for the autumn season. At the end of the season they clearly missed promotion with third place behind champions SKU Amstetten and SC Retz .
