Christian Schrader (legal scholar)

Christian Schrader (* 1959 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German legal scholar , judge and university professor .

Life

Schrader studied law at the Universities of Regensburg and Göttingen . Around 1988 he was in Göttingen with the dissertation of the remediation of contaminated sites according to the polluter pays principle ?: Legal questions of the assumption of costs against the background of the legalization effect of permits to the Dr. iur. PhD . He completed his legal clerkship in Göttingen , Kassel , at the University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer, at the Federal Environment Agency and at the Federal Association of German Industry in Cologne. From 1990 he built up the waste law department of the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Regional Planning of the State of Brandenburg. In 1991 he moved to the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Environment as a consultant , where he was responsible for questions relating to nuclear law, nature conservation law and interdisciplinary environmental law.

In 1994, Schrader accepted an appointment at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences , where he became a professor for legal issues in technological development, specializing in constitutional, environmental and technical law. From 2000 to 2003 he was Dean of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Studies, from 2007 to 2009 Data Protection Officer and from 2009 to 2011 Vice President for Studies and Teaching at the University of Fulda. He is currently the Dean of Studies there . At the university he also built up the social law course from 2002, of which he was director until 2006.

Schrader was also a member of the Goettingen City Council from 1999 to 2001. He has also been a member of the board of directors since 2000 and a member of the credit committee of Sparkasse Göttingen since 2012 . He has been a member of the Lower Saxony State Court since 2012 , after having been a deputy there since 2005.
