Christian Sengfelder (born February 28, 1995 in Leverkusen ) is a German basketball player.

career

Sengfelder left his hometown club TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2013 and moved to the basketball boarding school at the Urspring School . There he played in youth and in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA for the Ehingen / Urspring School syndicate .

After one season he left the Urspring School and went to Fordham University in New York City to combine competitive sports and studies. There he spent three seasons, in which he played a total of 93 missions in the first division of the NCAA , scoring an average of 11.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per encounter. With 160 three-point throws hit, he was in the all-time best list of Fordham University in ninth place when he left the team. For the 2017/18 season he moved to Boise State University in the state of Idaho and came to 32 missions for their team with averages of 11.8 points and 6.6 rebounds.

After returning to Germany, Sengfelder signed a contract with Bundesliga club Basketball Löwen Braunschweig in June 2018 . At Lower Saxony, he immediately made himself a top performer and scored an average of 11.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per match in 37 Bundesliga appearances in the course of the 2018/19 season, in which he was always represented in the starting line-up. In June 2019 he signed a three-year contract with Brose Bamberg .

National team

The man from Leverkusen played for the German U18 national team at the B-EM 2013 and was the best German scorer at the U20 EM 2015 in Italy . In May 2018, Sengfelder was invited to tournament trips with the A2 national team. In February 2019, he was appointed to the German senior national team for the first time, and in July 2019 he finished fifth in the Summer Universiade in Naples . With an average of 13 points per match, Sengfelder was the second best German basket scorer in the tournament.
