Christian Weisbrich

Christian Michael Weisbrich (born April 1, 1942 in Ratibor , Upper Silesia ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

Weisbrich graduated from high school in 1962 . He then studied at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1971 he received his degree in business administration. Weisbrich worked in the commercial area from 1969 to 1973. From 1973 to 1975 he was managing director of the "Stadt Nettetal Development Company". Then he was from 1976 to 1977 board member of "Baugesellschaft Nettetal AG". From 1977 to 1982 Weisbrich held the post of First Alderman and Building Secretary of the city of Nettetal . From 1982 to 1990 he was city director of Nettetal and managing director of Stadtwerke Nettetal GmbH.

Weisbrich is married and has one child.

politics

Weisbrich, who has been a member of the CDU since 1962, was a city councilor in Gelnhausen from 1968 to 1970 . From 1970 to 1973 he served as an honorary member of the magistrate. During this time he was also the CDU city association chairman of Gelnhausen and a member of the CDU district executive committee. Other party offices followed in the next few years. From 1994 to 1999 Weisbrich was a member of the Viersen district council . Since 2001 he has been a member of the state board of the North Rhine-Westphalian CDU. Weisbrich belonged to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from June 1, 1995 to 2012 and had been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since 2005.

On March 14, 2012 the state parliament decided to dissolve it in accordance with Art. 35 (1) LV NRW . The new election took place on May 13, 2012; Weisbrich announced that he would no longer be a candidate. In his previous constituency - Viersen II Landtag constituency - Marcus Optendrenk ran for the 2012 election .
