Christian Werner (born May 17, 1958 ) is a former German soccer player .

Player career

Christian Werner played for the Hertha BSC amateurs from 1976 and initially only played two test matches in the first team. There he could not recommend coach Georg Keßler for the professionals. It was not until the 1979/80 Bundesliga season that he made his first appearance against Bayer 04 Leverkusen under Kuno Klötzer . Overall, Werner made three league games that season, all of which were lost. The games without Werner's participation also went marginally better and so Hertha was relegated at the end of the season.

After relegation Christian Werner moved to TSV 1860 Munich for the 1980/81 season . In the Löwen coached by Carl-Heinz Rühl , Werner scored twice in his second league game against 1. FC Nürnberg . In the course of the game year, however, only one more goal should follow. And as in the previous year with Hertha, Werner also descended in 1860.

In 1981 Werner moved to KSK Tongeren in Belgium . Although Werner and his team finished tenth there, he was only used eleven times and scored three goals.

In 1982 Werner went to Switzerland for FC Chiasso , which played in the National League B in 1982/83 . Werner scored 19 goals there in his first season, making him second-best goalscorer in the league and his club shooting into second place. This allowed Chiasso to rise and played in 1983/84 at the highest level. However, the Ticino were only able to win four of the 30 games of the season and were immediately relegated to bottom.
