Christian Weymayr (* 1961 ) is a German author and science and medical journalist.

Career

Weymayr studied biology in Regensburg and Hamburg. He received his doctorate in 1993 from the University of Hamburg on the subject of "Structural investigations on snail galactans using monoclonal antibodies and sequential Smith degradation". He was a junior editor at Die Zeit , medical editor at Ergo and responsible editor at the science media service. Weymayr worked as a freelance science and medical journalist from 1998 to 2014. During this time he was the editor of research magazine at Bayer AG and wrote as a freelance editor for brand eins . Weymayr later specialized increasingly in the area of ​​patient information. He is the author of numerous publications on medical topics and a sought-after expert. Weymayr is a lecturer in medical journalism at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Gelsenkirchen. He lives in Herne and is involved in a theater group in his free time.
