Christian Widenmann

Christian Widenmann (born April 25, 1802 in Mönchengladbach ; † May 27, 1876 in Cologne ) was a German lawyer and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Christian Widenman studied law in Bonn and Berlin from 1821 to 1825 . In Bonn he joined the Old Bonn Burschenschaft / Germania Bonn in 1821 . After his studies he was a trainee at several places in the Rhine Province , in 1833 for example at the Higher Regional Court in Hamm . From 1833 until his death he worked as a lawyer .

In the revolutionary year of 1848 he was elected to the Paulskirche parliament for constituency 34, Rhineland (Mönchengladbach) province . He was a member of the Württemberger Hof and Augsburger Hof parliamentary groups and in the legislative, election review and central authority committee .

In 1849 he was a member of the Gotha post-parliament and Undersecretary of State in the Reich Ministry of Justice. In addition, since 1848 he was chairman of the commission for the drafting of a common German commercial law.

In the year of his death in 1876, Widenmann received his doctorate and was appointed Privy Councilor of Justice.
