Württemberger Hof
Württemberger Hof was the name of a political faction of the center-left that had existed since June 1848 in the Frankfurt National Assembly . As with most parliamentary groups in the National Assembly, the name refers to the usual meeting place for parliamentarians, the Württemberger Hof in the old town of Frankfurt am Main .
The goals of the Württemberger Hof were to create a parliamentary monarchy with a strong representation of the people and a federal constitution for Germany in a large German form. According to their ideas, the imperial government should be dependent on parliament, but the imperial constitution did not have to be agreed with the state constitutions.
The best-known members of the parliamentary group were the President of the Pre-Parliament Carl Mittermaier as well as Biedermann , Fallmerayer , Giskra , Kierulff , Laube , Ostendorff , Franz Raveaux , Gabriel Riesser , Vischer , Wuttke , Zell and Zerzog .
In September 1848, Mittermaier and Wernher split off the Augsburger Hof faction , which together with the casino accepted a small German solution and a hereditary empire and generally represented more nationally liberal views, but continued to vote with the Württemberg court on questions of the Paulskirche constitution .
