Christian Zwingmann (architect)
Christian Zwingmann (born May 27, 1827 in Riga , † May 4, 1891 in Copenhagen ) was an architect of eclecticism .
Life and Buildings
Johan Christian Ferdinand Zwingmann was awarded a silver medal at the academy's building school in 1855. He drew with Niels Sigfred Nebelong and Gottlieb Bindesbøll . Under Ferdinand Meldahl he was the site manager for the reconstruction of Frederiksborg Castle . Zwingmann traveled to Italy around 1870. In later years he became insane.
The manor at Kulla-Gunnarstorp from 1865 to 1868, the pharmacy in Hørsholm built in 1866 , the church in Marsvinsholm completed in 1867 and the main building built in 1875 on Strödam near Hillerød go back to Christian Zwingmann . He was also involved in the restoration of Karsholm Palace in 1862 .
Zwingmann's drawings became the property of the Academy in Copenhagen.
