Christina Birch (born November 17, 1986 in Mesa ) is an American cyclist who primarily competes in endurance disciplines on the track.

Athletic career

In 2009 Christina Birch started cycling by participating in local races. While studying biotechnology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , she mainly competed in cyclo-cross races for the university team . With the track cycling began in 2012 as a cross-training for cross-country, had the sport but again give up, because the nearby velodrome was closed. After completing her doctorate , she moved to California in 2015 to teach at the University of California there. There she found the opportunity to train at the Velo Sports Center . After a year, she changed jobs to live closer to the Velodrome.

In 2016 Birch became the US champion in the single pursuit , the following year in the single and team pursuit , and in 2018 in the two-man team and in the team pursuit. Also in 2018 she was (with Jennifer Valente , Kimberly Geist and Kelly Catlin ) the Pan American team pursuit champion. At the Pan American Games in Lima , Bolivia , she won with Geist in the two-man team and with Geist, Chloé Dygert and Lily Williams in the team pursuit.
