Jennifer Valente (born December 24, 1994 in San Diego ) is an American cyclist who is primarily active on the track .

Athletic career

At the age of 14, Jennifer Valente came into contact with track cycling at the San Diego Velodrome while attending an open course there. Since then she has been at least 17 times American champion in various age groups (as of the end of 2015). In 2011 she won the title of world champion in scratch at the junior track world championships .

In 2015, Valente was a three-time Pan American champion, in the single pursuit , in the scratch and in the team pursuit (with Kelly Catlin , Sarah Hammer and Ruth Winder ). Together with Hammer, Catlin and Chloé Dygert , she became world champion in the team pursuit in 2016 . In the same year she was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she won the silver medal in the team pursuit with Catlin, Dygert and Winder. In the same discipline she became world champion the following year at the World Railroad Championships in Hong Kong ; In 2018 , the American women's foursome with Valente, Dygert, Catlin and Kimberly Geist repeated this success.
