Christina Eberl-Borges

Christina Eberl-Borges (born October 27, 1962 in Riedlingen ) is a German lawyer and has been a professor of civil law, in particular family and inheritance law, as well as private international law and comparative law, at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz since 2011 .

Life

Eberl-Borges studied law from 1982 in Passau and Bonn . There she passed the first state examination in law in 1988. During her studies, she received subject-specific foreign language training in French and Italian. She then worked as an assistant at the University of Geneva . From 1989 to 1992 she completed her legal preparatory service in the OLG district of Cologne . During her legal clerkship, she also received her doctorate. From 1992 to 2001 she was a research assistant at the University of Potsdam , where she qualified as a professor in 1999. From 1996 to 1999 she received a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation.

After substituting professorships in Bonn and Siegen as well as teaching activities in Potsdam and at the HU Berlin , she was a university professor at the University of Siegen from 2002 before she was offered a professorship at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in 2011.

The main research interests of Eberl-Borges are the law of the community of heirs and the reform of civil law in the People's Republic of China. She is also a member of the magazine's advisory board for all inheritance law practice .
