Christina Viragh

Christina Viragh (born January 23, 1953 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian-Swiss writer and translator , among others by Péter Nádas , Sándor Márai , Imre Kertész and Alain-Fournier .
Life
Christina Viragh had to leave her Hungarian homeland with her family in 1956 and moved to Lucerne in 1960 , where she grew up. She studied Philosophy , French and German Literature at the University of Lausanne . From 1985 to 1987 Christina Viragh worked as a teaching assistant for French at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg ( Canada ). She has been a corresponding member of the German Academy for Language and Poetry in Darmstadt since 1999 .
Christina Viragh now lives and works in Rome .
