Christine Ott (* 1963 in Strasbourg ) is a French musician and composer. She is a specialist in Ondes Martenot .

Life

Christine Ott studied Ondes Martenot with Jeanne Loriod at the Paris Conservatory and musicology at the University of Strasbourg .

Ott was a member of Yann Tiersen's group for ten years, performing with Radiohead , Tindersticks , Syd Matters , DAAU , This Immortal Coil and Jean-Philippe Goude .

Ott Ondes Martenot has been teaching at the Conservatoire National Strasbourg since 1992 .

In 2011 she shot the soundtrack for Roland Edzard's film La fin du silence , which the directors had selected in Cannes. In 2018 she shot the soundtrack for Phuttiphong Aroonphengs Kraben rahu (international title Manta Ray ), part of her snowdrop project. The film received the award for best film at the Venice International Film Festival 2018 selection Orizzonti.
