Christine Stanton

Christine Stanton ( Christine Frances "Chris" Stanton, née Annison ; born December 12, 1959 in Cottesloe Town ) is a former Australian high jumper .

In 1977 she was sixth at the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf .

After she was absent due to injury at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 , she came in sixth place at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow.

In 1981 she was fourth at the World Cup in Rome , in 1982 she won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane , and in 1983 she was eliminated from the qualification at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki .

After an eleventh place at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and a fifth place at the 1985 World Cup in Canberra, she won the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh .

At the 1987 World Cup in Rome, she did not get past the first round, and at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she was seventh.

She was eight times Australian champion in the high jump (1976, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1985-1987) and once in the long jump (1981).
