Christoph Albrecht (musicologist)

Christoph Albrecht (born December 9, 1944 in Bad Elster ) is a German theater and musicologist .

Life

Christoph Albrecht was dramaturge and chief dispatcher at the Hamburg State Opera from 1972 to 1977 and then from 1978 to 1981 artistic director of the Cologne Opera . For the seasons 1981/82 to 1990/91 he was operations director of the Hamburg Ballet . He was closely associated with John Neumeier, the chief choreographer and artistic director of the Hamburg Ballet, for 15 years (including the previous time at the Hamburg State Opera). From 1991 to 2003 he was director of the Semperoper in Dresden.

Christoph Albrecht was President of the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding from 2003 to 2006 . From the 2006/07 season he was designated as artistic director of the Bavarian State Opera , but his contract was canceled before he took office.
