Christoph Amstad

Christoph Amstad (born September 27, 1973 ) is a politician ( CVP ) of the Swiss canton of Obwalden .

Amstad was quietly elected in January 2016 as the successor to the resigned Hans Wallimann in the Obwalden government council. He took office on July 1, 2016 and took over the Security and Justice Department and, on behalf of the Department of Economics. In the 2018/19 year of office he held the office of Landammann .

Amstad is a financial planning expert and has headed the Raiffeisenbank branch in Sarnen since 2009 . He has been a member of the Obwalden Cantonal Council since 2012 and in the co-presidium of his party since summer 2015.

Amstad lives in Sarnen, is married and has a father of two.
