Christoph Gengnagel (* 1965 in Jena ) is a German architect and civil engineer . Since 2006 he has been a university professor for structural design and structural planning at the University of the Arts (UdK) Berlin.

Life

Christoph Gengnagel studied civil engineering at the Bauhaus University Weimar from 1987 to 1992 and graduated with a diploma . From 1993–2000 he studied architecture at the Technical University of Munich and worked at the same time as a structural engineer and project engineer at Dywidag, among others . In 1999 he founded his own engineering office aka engineers in Munich. 1998–2004 he was assistant at the chair for structural engineering at the faculty of architecture at the Technical University of Munich . In 2005 he received his doctorate on “Mobile Membrane Structures” at the Technical University of Munich. In 2006 he was appointed as a university professor at the chair for structural design and structural engineering in the architecture course. Since 2007 he has been director of the Institute for Architecture and Urban Development . From 2008 to 2012 he was 1st Vice President of the UdK Berlin.

In 2010 he supported the HTW “Living Equia” team at the Solar Decathlon Europe competition . Since 2013 he has been supporting the Rooftop team of the UdK Berlin in participating in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2014.
