Christoph Gottschalk (born August 19, 1953 in Bamberg ) is a German entrepreneur . He sees himself in the role of a media broker as an intermediary between prominent personalities, their advertising partners and the television stations.

Christoph Gottschalk was born as the son of the lawyer Hans Gottschalk (* 1902 in Oppeln ; † 1964 in Kulmbach) and his wife Rutila (* 1922; † 2004) in Bamberg. He has two siblings, the radio and television presenter , entertainer and actor Thomas Gottschalk (* 1950) and his younger sister Raphaela (* 1960). Today he lives in Munich with his wife Regina . The couple have a daughter together.

Life

After graduating from high school , Christoph Gottschalk studied law with a focus on media law . He then began a dissertation on the subject of prohibited and permitted product placement on TV , which he never finished.

In his early years he specialized in advertising in film and television. It was through him that product placement on German television was introduced in the 1980s : he was responsible for using Opel vehicles in the crime series Tatort , for which the company paid. He also equipped a number of James Bond films with BMW motorcycles . Together with Thomas Gottschalk, he developed the broadcast concept for Gottschalk Late Night, which was new in Germany, in 1992 and sold it to RTL together with his brother's moderation work . In 1999 Christoph Gottschalk founded Dolce Media , with which he gave ZDF the rights to the show Wetten, dass ..? bought and marketed internationally. Dolce Media arranges celebrities as testimonials for companies and also organizes the appearances of the guests at Wetten, dass ..? . Thomas Gottschalk left the company in 2009.

Christoph Gottschalk achieved nationwide fame in 2000 through joint appearances with his brother in commercials for Deutsche Post AG .
