Christoph Ignaz Abele
Christoph Ignaz Abele , since 1665 with the predicate von und zu Lilienberg , 1684 Graf (* 1627 in Vienna ; † October 12, 1685 ibid) was an Austrian legal scholar and court official.
Life
His family came from Breisgau and had been ennobled in 1547. An ancestor Abeles had been in service at court under Emperor I. Maximilian served. Abele studied law and entered the higher civil service, where he became imperial court secretary and internal Austrian trainee.
On November 5, 1665, he and his brother Matthias were given the title von und zu Lilienberg, heir from Hacking , by Emperor Leopold I. His position as trainee lawyer for internal affairs enabled him to have a great influence on the award of manors in 1666 and 1667.
He later belonged (1670–71) to the investigative tribunal of the magnate conspiracy . In 1674 he was raised to the old knighthood and sat on the Council of Ministers. In 1679 he succeeded Count Georg Ludwig von Sinzendorf as President of the Court Chamber. In the same year he was also raised to the baron status.
1681 he rose to the peerage and became the Privy appointed. In 1683 Abele gave up the presidency of the court chamber, but remained a member of the secret conference and was elevated to the rank of count in 1684 . Shortly before his death he appears as government commissioner for the Hungarian estates.
He is considered a patron of the Servite Church in Vienna .
In 1894, Lilienberggasse in Vienna-Hacking (13th district of Vienna) was named after him.
Abele's brother was the lawyer and writer Matthias Abele .
