Christoph Peck

Christoph Peck (* 1948 in Schmallenberg - Oberkirchen ; † July 4, 2011 in Cologne ) was a journalist and editor .

Life

Peck was born in Oberkirchen in the Sauerland . He then lived in Essen and then studied German and philosophy in Cologne . After graduating, he worked for WDR television from 1970 . Peck then worked for the NRZ , the Kölnische Rundschau and the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger . In 1982 he switched to the Spiegel editorial team . Seven years later he became deputy editor-in-chief at Esquire in Munich and, in 1991, managing editor at Capital magazine . In 1996 Peck started his own business . At the beginning of 2003, Peck took over the post of editor-in-chief at the business journalist magazine . In the meantime he also received teaching assignments. From 1998 to 2003 he was head of the Bonn Journalists Academy. He then received a teaching position from 1994 to 1996 at the University of Münster and from 2007 a teaching position at the University of Mainz . He was also a lecturer at the FAZ Institute. Peck has contributed to several book publications. He was married and had three children. After a long illness he died at the age of 63 in Cologne.
