The Spechtenbeck is an approximately 4 km long, orographically right or northeastern tributary of the Holzkape in the district of Kassel , North Hesse ( Germany ).

The Spechtenbeck rises on the western roof of the Reinhardswald . Its source is around 500 m north-northwest of the village of Mariendorf , the northernmost district of Immenhausen . In an agricultural area, it is located a few meters south-southeast of the junction of state road  3386 from the L 3229 at about 300  m above sea level. NN .

The Spechtenbeck, which initially runs southwards and otherwise mostly south-westwards through agricultural areas, flows, after crossing under the L 3386, initially westwards past Mariendorf and flows through the Huguenot pond . When you pass the Menschenhäuser Berg ( 297.9  m above sea level ), it enters the natural area of Hofgeismarer Rötsenke . Then it flows through the Flügersgrund and then it passes the whey meadow .

Then the Spechtenbeck crosses under the L 3233 ( 211  m above sea level ), shortly afterwards around 250 m west of the Klingenhof estate , which is northwest of Immenhausen , at around 209  m above sea level. NN in coming there from southeast Esse influx Holzkape to lead .

Catchment area and tributaries

The catchment area of the Spechtenbeck is 6.507 km². Its tributaries include a small stream that flows southwest of Mariendorf into the Huguenot pond through which it flows, and also one at the Molkenwiese .
