Christoph Rüffer

Christoph Rüffer (born March 6, 1973 in Essen ) is a German chef .

Career

Rüffer was encouraged to become a chef through the television program "Essen wie Gott in Deutschland". He completed his training in 1989 at the Sheraton Hotel in Essen. In 1992 he moved to the Le Gourmet restaurant under Otto Koch in Munich and in 1994 to the Hotel Résidence under Henri Bach in Essen. In 1996 he went to Baiersbronn , first with Harald Wohlfahrt as Demi-Chef de Partie in his three-star restaurant Schwarzwaldstube , then in 1997 as Chef de Partie with Claus-Peter Lumpp in Restaurant Bareiss . In 1998 he moved to the Résidence again as sous- chef . After completing his training as a chef, he earned his first Michelin star and 17 Gault Millau points as a chef at the Munkmarsch ferry house on Sylt in 1999 .

Since June 2002 he has been chef de cuisine in the Haerlin restaurant in the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Hamburg , which has been recognized in the Michelin and Gault Millau guides for years . In 2012 it was awarded the second Michelin star and in 2014 with 19 points in Gault Millau. In 2014, Rüffer also received the “Chef of the Year” award from Gault Millau. and 2019 in The Great Restaurant & Hotel Guide 2020.

Since March 2015 he has been a regular juror in the ZDF program Die Küchenschlacht .
