Christoph Schiller (theologian)
Karl Christoph Schiller (born November 13, 1927 in Mistelbach ; † November 4, 1994 in Regenstauf ) was a German theologian , educator and politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After attending school, Schiller initially did Reich Labor Service . He was then drafted into the Wehrmacht and took part in the Second World War as an air force helper in 1944/45 and was wounded. Most recently he was taken prisoner by the Soviets.
Schiller studied Protestant theology from 1948 to 1952, was City Vicar in Treuchtlingen from 1953/54 and from 1954 to 1957 as Exposed Vicar in Nuremberg - Langwasser . From 1957 to 1961 he worked as a pastor in Burggrub . He then worked as a religion teacher and was promoted to senior university councilor.
MP
Schiller was a council member of the city of Bayreuth since 1966 and from 1974 to 1994 a member of the district assembly of the district of Upper Franconia . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1972. He entered parliament through the Bavarian State List .
Public offices
Schiller served as mayor of the city of Bayreuth from 1966 to 1972 and was district administrator for the Wunsiedel district from 1972 to 1990 .
