Peter Berek
Peter Berek (* 1968 in Wiesau ) is a Bavarian local politician ( CSU ). He was in the local elections in Bavaria in 2020 to District Administrator of the district Wunsiedel selected.

Peter Berek was born in Wiesau in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth and grew up in the neighboring Fuchsmühl . In 1982 he moved with his parents to Bad Alexandersbad in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains . His parents ran a bakery there, where he worked as a junior chef from 1985 to 1992, until he had to change jobs due to a flour allergy. Afterwards Berek worked in the city administration of the city of Marktredwitz and graduated with a degree in Public Administration at the University in court .
After the local elections in Bavaria in 2008 , he became mayor of Bad Alexandersbad . He kept this office after the 2014 election, where he was confirmed in office with 88.4%. After District Administrator Karl Döhler did not run in the local elections in Bavaria in 2020 , Peter Berek ran as the CSU candidate for the district administrator in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge and won the election with 53.9% of the votes in the first ballot.
Berek is married and has four children.
