Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff (born October 26, 1967 in Bremen ) is a German civil servant in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. He heads Department 2 “Economy” of the Ministry of Economy, Labor, Transport & Technology with the rank of ministerial director . From December 2011 to October 2012 he was State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research.

Life and work

Knobelsdorff grew up in Franconia. After graduating from high school (1988) and completing basic military service in Nuremberg (1988/89), Knobelsdorff began studying law at the Free University of Berlin (1989/90). Later he changed the subject and from then on studied economics. In December 1995 he completed his academic training with a degree in economics. In 1993 he attended the Modern Drum School in Idar-Oberstein .

From 1996 to 1997 Knobelsdorff worked as a self-employed musician, after which he became a research assistant for Oswald Metzger, member of the Bundestag (then Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2000 to 2006 he worked for the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in Berlin, initially as head of the department for public finances and real taxes, from 2004 as office manager of DIHK President Ludwig Georg Braun . After that he was federal manager of the interest group Die Familienunternehmer - ASU for two and a half years . In November 2008, Knobelsdorff moved to the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry , where he was managing director of training and further education until his appointment as State Secretary.

Kurt-Christoph von Knobelsdorff has four daughters.

From December 2011 to October 2012, Knobelsdorff was the successor to Jens-Peter Heuer State Secretary in the Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research, led by Sybille von Obernitz (independent, for CDU ).
