Sybille von Obernitz

Sybille von Obernitz (born March 11, 1962 in Augsburg ) is a non-party German economist and politician . She was in Berlin from December 1, 2011 to September 11, 2012 at the suggestion of the CDU Senator for Economics, Technology and Research .
education
Von Obernitz graduated from high school in 1981 at the Anna Barbara von Stetten Institute in Augsburg. She then studied political science, history and later economics in Freiburg and Munich from 1981–1987 and graduated in 1987 from the University of Freiburg with a degree in economics.
IHK organization (IHK and DIHK)
After completing her studies, Sybille von Obernitz initially worked as a consultant in the areas of economics and general management at the Augsburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry . In 1997 she came to Berlin with her family for private reasons. There she worked for around three years, initially as a personal advisor to the IHK President and General Manager of the IHK Berlin . From 2001 to 2003 she was in charge of Education and Science Policy. In 2004 she moved to the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), where she was in charge of vocational training and educational policy from July 2005 until her appointment as senator. From 2004 until she left the DIHK, Sybille von Obernitz was a member of the main committee of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BiBB), which, for example, advises the federal government on "fundamental questions of vocational training ". In 2010 von Obernitz was also a member of the Federal Youth Board of Trustees . Since January 1, 2016, Sybille von Obernitz has been Managing Director of the Kassel-Marburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry .
Senator for Economic Affairs in Berlin
On December 1, 2011, Sybille von Obernitz was appointed Senator for Economics, Technology and Research of the State of Berlin . In the summer of 2012, Obernitz was massively criticized for the advertisement for the position of Managing Director of Messe Berlin , which was published without the involvement of the Supervisory Board . CDU country chief Frank Henkel then considered further cooperation to be no longer possible, so that Sybille von Obernitz asked for dismissal on September 8, 2012. She justified her request for release with a lack of support. The governing mayor, Klaus Wowereit , dismissed the senator from her position on September 11, 2012, thereby enabling her to receive a transitional allowance.
