biography
The composer duo Christopher Colaço and Philipp Schaeper have known each other since their musical beginnings in Berlin. The two studied jazz piano / drums together at the Berlin University of the Arts . Working together and performing on various stages together, they developed a versatile musical language.
In 2013 they had the opportunity to set their first film to music ( OH BOY! / Jan-Ole Gerster ), for which they formed an old-school jazz band with friends.
After winning the German film prize for the best film music together with Florian Menzel and Tom Berkmann , they continued their shared passion for composing / film scoring in several projects.
At the same time, Christopher and Philipp were working on their own music, which resulted in their first album "View from Above" in cooperation with classical musicians from the Mahler Chamber Orchestra . The result are atmospheric sound collages with catchy piano melodies and electronic elements.
In addition to the film music, both are active in various music projects. a. at Tom Schilling & The Jazz Kids , Frittenbude or the Babelsberg Film Orchestra .
