Christopher Engelbrecht (born February 15, 1985 in Pretoria ) is a South African ice hockey player who has played with the Johannesburg Wildcats in the Gauteng Province Hockey League since the beginning of his career .

Career

Christopher Engelbrecht began his career with the Johannesburg Wildcats from the Gauteng Province Hockey League , one of the regional leagues whose winners play the South African championship, for which he has played since then.

International

Engelbrecht was initially on the ice at the U18 World Championships 2002 in Division III and 2003 in Division II as well as the U20 World Championships 2002 and 2005 in Division III and 2003 and 2004 in Division II for his home country.

In the men's national team , he made his debut at the age of 18 at the 2003 World Cup in Division II, when his team managed to stay up. Also in 2004 and 2009 he played in Division II. After relegation in 2009, he was on the ice for the Springboks in 2010 and 2011 , when the promotion was successful, in Division III. At the 2015 World Cup he represented his colors again in Division II.
