Christopher Nöthe (born January 3, 1988 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a German football player .
Career
Christopher Nöthe started his career at VfR Rauxel in Castrop-Rauxel. His talent was soon recognized and he switched to the youth department of FC Schalke 04 . After four years he left Schalke and joined the youth team at VfL Bochum at the age of 13 . He played there for a year before playing for the youth teams of Borussia Dortmund from 2002 . In the 2006/07 season Nöthe was appointed to the second team of BVB for the first time. There he scored three goals in six games as a substitute. In the 2007/08 season he was a regular player for Borussia Dortmund's second team. Nöthe played his first Bundesliga game on September 29, 2007 when BVB lost 3-1 at Karlsruher SC ; on October 5, 2007, he was in the Bundesliga starting line-up for the first time in a 2-1 win against VfL Bochum.
In June 2008 it was announced that Nöthe would be awarded for one season by BVB to the second division promoted Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . There he was only used in the second half of the season after a serious injury, but had good odds there with five hits in 14 games. For the 2009/10 season he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth , where he signed a three-year contract. In his first year after his return, he was not only the only player on the team to appear in all 34 games of the season, but was also the most successful goalscorer with 15 goals. The 2010/11 season was marked by injuries. After a knee injury had already affected the preparation for the season, a necessary shoulder operation cost him most of the first half of the season from the 4th matchday on. A foot injury in February 2011 finally led to an early end of the season for Nöthe. In the 2011/12 season , SpVgg became champions of the second division and made it to the Bundesliga for the first time . Christopher Nöthe was involved with 13 goals in 28 missions. After he was hardly used in the course of the 2012/13 season , his contract was not extended by the club.
For the 2013/14 season Nöthe was signed by the second division club FC St. Pauli . He signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2016. Nöthe has been under contract with Arminia Bielefeld since the 2015/16 season . After many injuries, Nöthe left East Westphalia when the contract expired after four years.
