history

At the beginning of the 20th century, the desire for a local church grew. During the construction of the Christ Chapel, the community was supported by numerous donors and Protestant parishes . The church district of Bleicherode donated the bell of the tower roof ridge . The tower clock financed the political community of Uder. The church district of Wernigerode donated the pulpit and altar clothing , the cross came from Bad Liebenwerda , since the Liebenwerda superintendent Eiselen had once introduced the worship service in Uder as a deacon in Heiligenstadt. The Protestant community in Heiligenstadt donated two church windows . Donations were also made to complete the interior.

On June 29, 1928, the chapel was consecrated as a branch church of the Protestant community in Heiligenstadt.

Almost all of the furnishings in the Christ Chapel have been preserved.
