Chromolaena corymbosa is a plant from the genus Chromolaena within the family of Compositae (Asteraceae). It only occurs on the Caribbean islands.

description

Chromolaena corymbosa grows as a shrub . The opposite leaves are simple. The cup-shaped partial inflorescences are arranged in umbrella -shaped total inflorescences. The fruits are achenes .

distribution

Chromolaena corymbosa occurs in Puerto Rico and on the Virgin Islands or on the Lesser Antilles in Anguilla, Antigua, La Desirade, Martinique, Montserrat, Saba, St. Kitts.

Taxonomy

It was first described in 1775 under the name ( Basionym ) Eupatorium corymbosum by Jean Baptiste Aublet in Histoire des Plantes de la Guiane Françoise , 2, p. 799. Over time it was assigned to other genera. The new combination to Chromolaena corymbosa accepted today was made in 1970 by George King and Harold Ernest Robinson in Phytologia , Volume 20, Number 3, p. 200. Another combination for Eupatorium corymbosum (Aubl.) Is Osmia corymbosa (Aubl.) Britton & P. Wilson 1925. Other synonyms for Chromolaena corymbosa (Aubl.) RMKing & H.Rob. are: Eupatorium atriplicifolium Hort. ex Lam. , Eupatorium atriplicifolium Vahl .
