The Chumbu is a 6853  m (or 6859  m ) high mountain in the Himalayas in Nepal - south of the border with Tibet and 13.73 km west-northwest of Mount Everest .

The Chumbu lies on a ridge that connects the Hungchi ( 7036  m ) in the west with the Pumori ( 7161  m ) in the east. Between Chumbu and Pumori lies the Khangri Shar summit ( 6792  m ). A mountain ridge leads south from Chumbu to Nirekha ( 6169  m ). The Khangri-Shar Glacier flows on the east flank , while the Gyhubanare Glacier flows on the west flank .

The Chumbu has not yet been climbed.
