Normal way via Cho La Col and West Ridge

The Nirekha is a mountain in the Mahalangur Himal in eastern Nepal .

The Nirekha is located in the Khumbu region, 16 km west of Mount Everest , and has an altitude of 6,169  m . The mountain has two pyramid-shaped peaks of approximately the same height (north and south peaks), which rise from the summit plateau. The Nirekha falls into the "A" category of climbing peaks according to the Mountaineers Association of Nepal .

The Lobuche West Summit ( 6145  m ) is 2 km further east in the same ridge . To the west lies the mountain saddle Cho La Col ( 5650  m ), to the southwest the mountain pass Cho La ( 5380  m ). Further west beyond the Cho La Col rises the Kangchung ( 6103  m ). 6.38 km south is the Cholatse ( 6440  m ). To the northeast, a ridge leads to Chumbu ( 6853  m ).

The standard route leads over the Cho La Col and the west ridge to the summit plateau and has a level of difficulty AD +.
