Walter Johannes Fischer

Walter Johannes Fischer (born December 18, 1963 in Gallneukirchen ) is an Austrian singing teacher , singer ( bass ), choir director and cultural manager .

Life

Fischer gained his first musical experience while still at school as a soloist at church services. In 1981 he began to study singing at the Bruckner Conservatory (today Anton Bruckner Private University ) and in 1988 he was awarded the state teaching qualification , which was followed by the artistic diploma in 1992.

He completed further studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the subject of song and oratorio in 1995 with the diploma and the title of "academically certified concert singer" and sponsored the master's thesis "The vocal work of Anton Bruckner" in 2006 at the Anton Bruckner Private University Master of Arts .

Since then, Fischer has performed several times in the Brucknerhaus in Linz and in the Wiener Musikverein in recitals and oratorios and made his debut as an opera singer in 2000 with the role of Sarastro in Mozart's Magic Flute in the Bad Hall city ​​theater . Recitals took him to Vienna , Salzburg and Bad Schallerbach, among others .

In addition to his work as a singer, Fischer is particularly dedicated to training the next generation of singers. He has taught since 1985 at the music school in Pregarten the tray vocal training and a regular speaker for this art upon since 1988 Chorverband Upper Austria , the vowel Academy Krems , the Chorverband Germany operates and various choirs. In the project-related training, he groups the students into a choir and studies works such as “ Messiah ” by Georg Friedrich Handel or “ The Creation ” by Joseph Haydn with them .

In 1996, on the occasion of Bruckner's 100th anniversary of his death , he organized a Bruckner festival concert in Perg and one year later he founded the Kulturforum Arbing , of which he has been director ever since.

On June 18, 2000, Fischer and some members of the church choir founded the “Orgelverein Arbing” with the aim of having the Breinbauer organ in need of restoration repaired. This succeeded within a few years and the restored instrument was consecrated on June 4, 2004 by Bishop Maximilian Aichern .

Fischer lives with his family in Arbing.
