history

Horst was an old fief of the noble von Wedel family . Until 1830 there was a manor in Horst on the one hand, and several farms on the other. The manor included four outworks , the names meadow Werder , water field , David Hahn's opportunity and Roßkaten had.

In 1830 the manor Horst was sold by the last owner from the von Wedel family to nine farmers in the village. They formally owned the manor jointly, but divided the manor land so that each could manage it independently. The buildings of the Vorwerk were demolished. The number of shareholders decreased to four by 1860. Although the estate was deleted from the registers of the manors, the shareholders continued to share the patronage of the church and the school, due to the landlord .

Around 1870 Horst had 488 inhabitants, the district comprised 3418 acres of land. 52 horses, 123 cattle and 1867 sheep were kept.

Until 1945 Horst formed a rural community in the Regenwalde district of the Pomerania province . The community had 330 inhabitants in 1933 and 301 in 1939. Apart from the village of Horst itself, there were no other places to live in the community.

In 1945 Horst came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. The place was given the Polish name "Chwarstno".
