Henrike von Platen (born January 16, 1971 in Bremen ) is a German business graduate in computer science and business administration (VWA) , management consultant and interim manager . In 2017, she founded the Fair Pay Innovation Lab , a non-profit company that supports companies in the practical implementation of fair wages and advocates more equal pay in everyday business. She regularly invites representatives from business, science and politics to exchange ideas in so-called Fair Pay Management Circles . Henrike von Platen was president of the women's network Business and Professional Women Germany from 2010 to 2016 and was the patron of the German Equal Pay Day campaign. With its equal opportunities association activity, it advocated equal pay for women and men in management positions and equal pay.

Henrike von Platen grew up in Bonn and Tenerife . She graduated from school in England and later completed a degree in business administration (VWA) in Berlin. Since 1998 she has been working as an independent management consultant with a focus on business development and location optimization. As an interim manager and managing partner, she has been working for companies in Berlin in the renewable energies sector since 2005 . In 2000, she and twelve other women founded the Hexensabbat Club , a shareholder association “to jointly invest in the stock market”, which grew to 30 women and was its managing director until 2010. In 2015 she was appointed university councilor at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and has been a lecturer for fair pay there since 2018 .

Gender equality policy

She has been a voluntary member of the federal board of the Business and Professional Women (BPW) association , one of the oldest and largest international women's networks, since 2008 . She was President of BPW Germany from 2010 to 2016. During her tenure, the association was particularly committed to the issues of women in management positions and gender-equitable wages. Henrike von Platen was the patron of the annual Equal Pay Day in Germany during this period . In 2011 she helped initiate the bipartisan Berlin Declaration , from which the campaign Top Women Ask Top Candidates emerged in May 2013. Together with the chairmen of other women's associations and politicians, she started the FairPay alliance for fair wages for women in June 2016 . As an active member, she is active in the women's network FidAR Women in the Supervisory Boards and the International Women's Forum IWF. She is the initiator of the online petition FairPay today .

Henrike von Platen is named as an expert v. a. Quoted and interviewed by quality media on the topics of women's quota and gender pay gap and invited to panel discussions. Under the motto Women and Work - Inequalities and Discrimination , at the invitation of the Federal Agency for Civic Education in 2016 , she discussed the reasons for the emergence of and combating pay inequality at a panel discussion. In 2018 and 2019 she was a speaker at the Reykjavík Global Forum - Women Leaders . On March 13, 2019, she opened the Fair Pay Global Forum with international experts as part of the 63rd Women's Rights Commission in New York. She was also a guest at the World Economic Forum 2019 as an expert .
