Ciarda Roșie
Ciarda Roșie ( German Rote Tscharda , Hungarian Vörös Csárda ) is the Xth district of the western Romanian city of Timișoara ( German Timişoara ). The district, located in the southeast of the city, covers an area of 102 hectares, mostly south of the road to Buziaș . It was incorporated into Timișoara in 1953 and is now the youngest of the ten municipal districts.
The name Ciarda Roșie is derived from a brick-built inn that used to be located there . Csárda stands for tavern or village inn in the Hungarian language. With the Romanian population, the restaurant was also known as Hanul Roşu or Hanul Cărămiziu . In 1930, however, it was renamed Petőffy , and at the same time the operators built a summer garden.
To this restaurant business around an originally mainly by developed from the turn of the century Hungary inhabited housing estate . Today it is a highly industrialized area.
In March 2016, Ciarda Roșie still had side roads without asphalt.
