The Cima Valbona , also Cima di Valbona , is a 2691 m slm high mountain in the Latemar , a mountain range of the Dolomites , which lies on the border of the Italian provinces of South Tyrol and Trentino or the municipalities of Deutschnofen and Predazzo .
Location and surroundings
The Cima Valbona lies in the south of the Latemar on its main ridge, which connects it with the Cima di Valsorda in the north and over its section of the Cavignon ridge with the Cima Feudo . In the west it falls in a 200 meter high rock face to the scree fields above the Maierlalm , while in the east and south there are only small rock walls, under which there are also scree fields. In the southeast lies the eponymous valley of the Cima Valbona, the Valbona, which is drained into the Avisio via the Rif di Gardonè .
