Clement Fecteau

Clément Fecteau (born April 23, 1933 in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce , Québec , Canada ; † December 31, 2017 ) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière .

Life

Clément Fecteau received after his philosophical and theological training at the Major Seminary in Québec on June 16, 1957, the ordination for the Archdiocese of Québec . He was initially a teacher of French, mathematics and physics at the Collège de Lévis, as well as a school chaplain and for six years director of the student union at this school. In 1979 he took over the parish in Plessiville.

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Talaptula and auxiliary bishop in Québec on June 17, 1989 . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Québec, Louis-Albert Cardinal Vachon , on October 20 of the same year; Co -consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Jean-Paul Labrie and Marc Leclerc .

On May 10, 1996, John Paul II called him Bishop of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière . He was a member of the Episcopal Education Commission and the Catholic Committee of the Higher Education Council as well as the Liturgical Commission of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.

On October 18, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
