Clare Dennis
Clara "Clare" Dennis (born March 7, 1916 in Burwood , New South Wales , † June 5, 1971 in Manly , Sydney ) was an Australian swimmer .
At the age of 15, she set a new world record for the 200 m chest in January 1932 and was able to confirm this achievement with her Olympic victory at the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . When she was not nominated for the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , she ended her career.
In 1982 she was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
