Clarissa Herbst (born January 6, 1981 in Northeim ) is a German teacher and politician ( SPD ). She has been a member of the Hamburg Parliament since June 2020 .

Life and work

Clarissa Herbst was born on January 6, 1981 in Northeim. After attending the Pädagogium Bad Sachsa boarding school , she studied German and history at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the University of Bielefeld with a focus on teaching at grammar schools . From 2006 to 2008 she studied German and history at the Stade study seminar , also with a focus on teaching at grammar schools.

From February 2009 to 2016 she worked as a teacher at the Emil-von-Behring-Gymnasium in Großhansdorf . Since 2016 she has been teaching German and history at the Coppernicus-Gymnasium in Norderstedt .

Clarissa Herbst is separated and has two children.

In the 22nd state election in Hamburg in 2020 , she ran for the SPD in the Fuhlsbüttel-Alsterdorf-Langenhorn constituency , but was not elected to the state. When Dorothee Martin (SPD) resigned from the parliament in May 2020 because she moved up to the Bundestag , Clarissa Herbst moved up as the next-ranking candidate on the Fuhlsbüttel-Alsterdorf-Langenhorn constituency list as a member of the parliament on June 4, 2020.
