Clark's Point is a town in the Dillingham Census Area in Alaska . On the reference date of the United States Census 2010 there were 62 people living at Clark's Point. During the summer months, the population increases to around 300 due to commercial fishing.

Clark's Point is located on a spit on the northeast coast of Nushagak Bay , a bay of Bristol Bay .

history

The place was called Saguyak by the Eskimos , although there was no evidence of settlement prior to the Nushagak Packing Company's canning factory being established in 1888. The parish was named after John Clark, manager of the Alaska Commercial Company store in Nushagak . In 1893 the canning factory was taken over by the Alaska Packers Association . The factory closed in 1952 and the facilities served as the headquarters for the company's fishing fleet.

Clark's Point can be reached by regular and charter flights from Dillingham. The state runway is about 750 m long and 20 m wide. Seaplanes land on the Nushagak River . There is no port, boats land on the beach. Quads and snowmobiles are the most common local modes of transportation.
