Clarke Medal
The Clarke Medal is awarded by the Royal Society of New South Wales ( Australia ) for excellence in science .
The award is named after the geologist William Branwhite Clarke (1798–1878), one of the founders of the company.
Nowadays, regardless of the nationality of the researcher, the medal is awarded annually for work carried out in Australia in the fields of geology , botany and zoology , with each of the disciplines being recognized every three years.
