Clarks Summit is a small town ( borough ) in Lackawanna County in the US state of Pennsylvania with a good 5000 inhabitants on an area of 4.1 km².
The core area ( Clarks Green ) of today's parish was promised to William Clark as a reward for participating in the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775 in the American Revolutionary War . However, as the allocation was later classified as illegal, Clark acquired the land independently and moved in 1799 with his three sons.
