Claude Gousset
Claude Gousset (born November 21, 1929 in Paris ) is a French jazz musician ( trombone ) and arranger .
Gousset taught himself to play the trombone by himself ; he first played in hot jazz bands , in 1949 with Mickey Larché, then with Michel Attenoux , with whom he accompanied Sidney Bechet , Peanuts Holland , Bill Coleman and Nelson Williams . Between 1956 and 1968 he belonged to various formations of Claude Bolling , with whom he recorded numerous records; In 1960 he was the French winner of a competition organized by ORTF and RAI . Then he was back in the band of Attenoux, with whom he performed at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1975 . From 1976 he was part of the anachronic Jazz Band , continue to septet of François Biensan, but also to Swing Machine of Gérard Badini before settling bands Irakli de Davrichéwy, Marcel Zanini , Jean-Claude Naude ( Mon vieux complice ) and Dany Doriz joined . He can also be heard on recordings by Paul Gonsalves , Claude Luter , Guy Lafitte and Lionel Hampton .
